Audio Portrait Description

For my audio portrait, I’m planning to discuss the impacts of Covid19 with my sister and her life, which had only occurred recently and is still ongoing. The main idea is to provide insight into the life of the New York community who has suddenly gone into quarantine, as well as capture how the virus has changed our lives so suddenly. The flow of the interview will begin with an introduction into my sister’s previous daily routine and focus on the growing anxieties and changes that have erupted, and how they have changed her schedule. Her personal input and emotions will accompany her description of various changes that have occurred. The mood for this interview does not have to be traumatic and could be an expression of her confusion and frustration, depending on how she describes her emotions. Questions: 1. What was your daily routine like before the news of the coronavirus? 2. How did you originally feel when you started hearing news about this virus outside of the states...

Define a Place

Colors In The Dark from Bianca Mistretta on Vimeo . Our "Define a Place" project, titled "Colors in the Dark" is a portrayal of life amongst the still landscape in Central Park. Because of the vast space and the cold weather, the park appears quiet and dead, with many plants barren and animals hibernating. However, through this project, my partner and I were able to capture little moments of life hidden within the park, especially within the concrete buildings surrounding landscape. We hope this film evokes the idea of finding comfort in the little things, when the overall image or goal is emotionless and less inspiring.
